NEET Counselling - Get update from UrFaculty

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET is the country's sole medical entrance examination, through which all medical colleges, run by the central and state governments, as well as private institutions and minority institutions, will admit students. NEET will be conducted on May 7, 2017.
Admissions to the Medical Colleges will be through a State-level counselling on the basis of marks obtained by the students in NEET. Tamil Nadu is Govt. is still opposing it and with very limited time available, it seems NEET will now be compulsory.

A common admission process will ensure that the Private Medical colleges don't sell seats arbitrarily. This will do away with Donations and Capitation fee that Private colleges demand. Admissions under the 15 per cent All India-quota in State government-run colleges will continue to be governed by Director-General of Health Services (DGHS), functioning under the Union Health Ministry.

According to the data listed on the website of Medical Council of India, Total Seats eligible for admission through NEET 2017 are 63985. Out of which, 28115 seats are being offered in Government colleges.
