CAT Exam Analysis 2016

The UrFaculty Team is bringing to you a detailed analysis on the CAT Exam that got concluded on Dec 4, 2016. As always, CAT exam was long and tough. Here is a quick snapshot:
1. Type in your answer questions were reduced to 7 from 10
2. Marking scheme: +3 for correct answer and -1 for a wrong answer (There were some error reported with respect to marking scheme, but it would be handled in the back end)
3. No penalty for non-MCQ type questions
4. There were 27 MCQ type questions and 7 Type In The Answer (TITA) questions in Quantitative Aptitude
5. There were 24 MCQ type questions and 8 Type In The Answer (TITA) questions in DILR
6. There were 24 MCQ type questions and 10 Type In The Answer (TITA) questions in Quantitative Aptitude
7. No pie chart based questions were asked this time

DILR was considered the toughest section. While QA and Verbal were of moderate difficulty levels.

Here is the split on the number of questions asked under Verbal section
Reading comprehension: 24
Para Jumble: 7
Summary: 3
Odd Sentence Out: 3

Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning
Here is the split on the number of questions asked under DI & LR
DI-Line Chart: 4
DI-Table Chart: 4
DI-Table Chart: 4
DI-Set theory: 4
LR-Arrangement: 12
LR- Set: 4

Quantitative Ability
Here is the split on the number of questions asked under QA
Algebra: 14
Arithmetic: 10
Modern Maths: 3
Trignometry: 2
Geometry: 4
Mensuration: 1
